Injury lawyer Mr. Henningsen talks about what you should expect when it comes to seeking compensation.
"In this field of law you are in a position where you can make a difference in peoples' lives. They come to you, clients come to you, at a very vulnerable time in their life. Many of them are hurting and don't know who to turn to and they need trusted legal representation. So when they come to me, we feel like we know what the plan of attack is going to be and how to go against these insurance companies. We do that through good investigation, good research and making sure that we understand what your needs are. We put that in our demand package so that we can be aggressive in determining the amount of money that you'll get.
We work on a contingency fee basis, which means there is no fee unless or until we are successful on your claim. What that means, in a situation where somebody has been a victim of personal injury it allows them the opportunity to get good, quality legal representation without paying anything upfront. We as lawyers are not paid until the end of the case. So, during the time you may have medical bills mounting, you may be missing work and you have other bills outside of that. Mortgage, your rent, your car payment, insurance, all of that that's going on you've got lawyer on your side working to do all of that for you.
I think that we've assembled a team in my office and we all work very well together to make sure that the client's interest are best being represented. What my staff allows me to do is spend more time communicating with my clients. What a lot of people don't realize is that an insurance adjustor may have 150, 200, 300 files on their desk at any given time. Our job as personal injury lawyers is to make sure that your case stands out to them. This is hard work. You have to be prepared. You have to be diligent. You have to stay after it day in and day out, but at the end of the day if we made a difference in our clients' lives, if we've been able to in some way help rectify a wrong, that is what gives me the most joy."
